Key takeaways
- Meshy is a browser workspace for AI 3D generation: text-to-3D and image-to-3D, plus AI texturing, character and quadruped animation, printability checks, scene and video modules, a conversational Meshy 3D Agent, a REST API, an API Playground and an MCP server. Everything runs hosted at meshy.ai, and as of August 2026 the documented product has no desktop, mobile or CLI app.
- It has grown from a generator into a six-module workspace. Image, 3D Model, 3D Printing, Animate, Scene and Video sit alongside the agent. The documented model lineup now covers Meshy 7, Meshy 6, Meshy 6 Lite and Smart Topology T1 and T2, each at a different credit cost, so picking a model per task is a cost decision as much as a quality one.
- Pricing is credit-metered across six plans as of August 2026: Free at $0 with 100 credits a month, Pro at $20, Premium at $40, Ultra at $100, Studio at $70 per seat and Enterprise on custom terms. The Free plan is permanent and needs no credit card, though the current plan comparison says it doesn't include model downloads.
- Third-party estimates put meshy.ai somewhere between roughly 27 million and 30 million visits in June 2026, up steeply from about 3.3 million in November 2025. These are estimator figures from two different sources that disagree with each other, so treat the size as a range and the trend as the reliable part.
- The biggest caveat is output quality on demanding work. Reviewers report glitchy meshes, weak hard-surface results, blurry or stretched textures and repeated attempts on complex geometry. The refund policy is narrow too: subscription refunds only within five days and only if you have used 100 credits or fewer, with credit purchases excluded entirely.
What is Meshy?
Meshy is an AI 3D content-creation platform operated by Meshy LLC. You give it a written description or a reference image and it returns a textured 3D model, then hands you tools to texture, remesh, animate, check for printability and export. Its own homepage title describes it as an AI 3D model generator for creating 3D from text and images. It runs entirely in a browser at meshy.ai, with a REST API and an MCP server for anyone wiring generation into an application.
Single-purpose generators stop once the model exists. Meshy keeps going into texturing, repair and animation. The workspace carries six modules, Image, 3D Model, 3D Printing, Animate, Scene and Video, plus the Meshy 3D Agent, a conversational mode for brainstorming, searching and creating assets. Its browser 3D Viewer includes auto-rotate, wireframe, grid and statistics alongside Remesh, AI Texture and printability checks, so you can inspect and repair a first pass without leaving the tab. Exports listed in the official feature material cover FBX, OBJ, GLB, USDZ, STL, BLEND, 3MF and DXF.
The model lineup is documented rather than explained. Meshy names Meshy 7, Meshy 6, Meshy 6 Lite and Smart Topology T1 and T2, and the plan guide associates them with credit costs at the model stage instead of publishing architectures or release dates. It is a hosted product, not open source, and the retrieved documentation does not identify which components are Meshy's own and which are licensed. Everything is metered by a credit economy, with a queue-priority ladder that differs by plan and API asset-retention terms from 14 days on Studio to permanent on Enterprise.
How it works
Open the workspace and pick a module
Create an account at meshy.ai in a browser. The Free plan starts without a credit card. Inside, choose Image, 3D Model, 3D Printing, Animate, Scene, Video or the Meshy 3D Agent. For standard asset generation you want text-to-3D or image-to-3D in the 3D Model module.
Describe it or upload a reference
Enter a prompt, which can be in a language other than English, or upload reference imagery. Then choose your model and quality options and art style, and submit. Multi-view image-to-3D is a paid-tier feature. You spend credits per operation, and the model you pick changes the cost: the model stage runs 25 credits on Meshy 7, 20 on Meshy 6, 10 on Meshy 6 Lite, 10 on Smart Topology T1 and 5 on T2.
Inspect and repair before you commit more credits
Open the result in the browser 3D Viewer and look at it in wireframe with statistics on. From there you can Remesh, apply AI Texture at 2K, 4K or 8K, retexture, run printability inspection and repair, or send a character or quadruped through the animation presets. Paid plans include a set number of free retries, from four on Pro up to 100 on Enterprise. Complex prompts often need several passes.
Export or wire it into a pipeline
Download in FBX, OBJ, GLB, USDZ, STL, BLEND, 3MF or DXF on a plan that permits downloads. If you're automating, use the REST API, test calls in the API Playground, or connect the MCP server so an agent can trigger generation. Free has no API access, and API asset retention is 14 days on Studio against permanent on Enterprise.
Features
Text to 3D
Turns a written description into a textured 3D model. Meshy documents Meshy 7, Meshy 6, Meshy 6 Lite and Smart Topology as selectable options with different credit costs, so you can run the same prompt cheap and rough or expensive and detailed. Prompts work in multiple languages.
Image to 3D
Converts a photo or piece of concept art into a 3D model. Multi-view image-to-3D, where several reference angles inform one model, is available on paid tiers only.
Text to Texture and AI Texture
Generates surface detail and applies it to an existing mesh, including retexturing and PBR-map workflows. Texture operations are priced separately from geometry: 10 credits at 2K or 4K, 15 at 8K.
Animation
Rigs and animates characters and quadrupeds from presets. The library size is a plan feature: 20 presets at the low end, 600 or more on Pro and above.
Meshy 3D Agent
A conversational mode for brainstorming, exploring, searching and creating assets. It sits alongside the form-based modules and doesn't replace them.
3D Printing
Inspects a model for printability, repairs the problems it finds, and includes a workflow that can send the result to print. It's the module that separates Meshy from generators that stop at a screen-ready mesh.
API, API Playground and MCP server
REST endpoints expose generation to your own application, the API Playground lets you test calls before writing code, and the MCP server connects AI agents directly to generation. API access starts at Pro; Studio is capped at 20 requests per second with 14-day asset retention, while Enterprise gets 100 or more customizable requests per second and permanent retention.
What people use it for
- Prototyping game characters, props and environments quickly
- Turning concept art or product reference photos into starting 3D assets
- Generating textures and PBR maps for meshes you already have
- Preparing models for 3D printing with printability inspection and repair
- Animating characters and quadrupeds from preset libraries
- Exporting assets into Blender, Unity, Unreal or AR and VR pipelines
- Building 3D generation into an application through the REST API or MCP
Meshy isn't reliable for precision hard-surface modeling, or for final production assets without human cleanup. Reviewers report problems with complex geometry, topology and texture fidelity.

As of August 2026 Meshy publishes six plans. Free is $0 a month with 100 credits, low queue priority, a one-task queue and no API access, and the current plan comparison says it does not include model downloads; Free outputs are licensed CC BY 4.0, so commercial use is allowed with attribution to Meshy. Pro is $20 a month or $240 billed annually for 1,000 credits, a 10-task queue, unlimited downloads, private or CC BY 4.0 ownership, API access, four free retries, multi-view image-to-3D and 600 or more animation presets. Premium at $40 brings 3,000 credits, a 30-task queue, 12 free retries, four Creative Lab free designs a day and early feature access. Ultra at $100 brings 8,000 credits, a 100-task queue, 40 free retries and 12 Creative Lab designs a day. Studio is $70 per seat a month with a one-seat minimum and $10 a month per additional member, and pools credits: 5,500 for one $70 unit, 16,800 for three units at $210, or 28,000 for five at $350, with a 60-task queue, 24 free retries, team management, limited API at 20 requests per second, 14-day API asset retention and no SAML SSO. Enterprise is custom, with 100 or more customizable requests per second, 100 free retries, permanent API asset retention, multi-workspace administration, SAML SSO and dedicated support. Credits are metered per task, so there is no single price per generation, and the mechanics have edges worth knowing before you subscribe: free credits reset at 00:00 UTC on the first of each month and do not roll over, extra credits can be bought though no complete current top-up price list was retrievable, cancellation happens in Settings then Subscription and stops renewal at the end of the cycle without refunding the current period, and unused paid credits do not carry over into Free. Refunds are narrow: generally subscription payments only, requested within five days, with no more than 100 credits used, and credit purchases, free or gift subscriptions and certain team plans are excluded from self-service refunds. No separate trial length or automatic trial-conversion rule is documented. The older Pro at $16 and Max at $48 tiers still circulating in directory listings are stale; the current page lists the six plans above.
Traffic & reach
Third-party estimates disagree on the size and agree on the direction. One estimator puts meshy.ai at about 29.9 million visits in June 2026, up 8.9 percent on May, having climbed from roughly 3.3 million in November 2025. A separate company profile estimates 27.4 million monthly visits for the same month. Neither is an audited number from Meshy, so read the level as a range in the high twenties of millions and the eightfold-plus growth across eight months as the more meaningful signal. About 29 percent of visits arrive direct and 25 percent from organic search, but roughly a third comes from paid channels, with display ads at 16 percent, paid search at 11 percent and paid social at 6 percent. Sessions are short, at an estimated 2 minutes 40 seconds and 1.2 pages per visit with a 66.5 percent bounce rate. The United States is the largest single country at about 17 percent, followed by Japan at 7 percent, India at 5 percent, Brazil at 5 percent and Vietnam at 4 percent.

Be the first to reviewWhat to know before you commit
What people rate it for. Trustpilot review summaries from April 2026 consistently credit the interface as intuitive, the generation as fast, and the tool as easy for beginners. Reviewers describe real time savings when turning 2D concepts into usable 3D starting points for prototyping and game development. A separate regional Trustpilot summary praises detail and efficiency while noting that users value it for rapid prototyping, not for flawless final geometry. On Product Hunt, a reviewer described Meshy-4 as an improvement while calling the pricing steep.
The quality complaints cluster in one place: hard surfaces and complex geometry. Reviewers report glitchy models, strange transitions, poor results on complex geometry, weak hard-surface output, blurry or stretched textures and the need for repeated attempts or manual cleanup, in Trustpilot summaries from April 2026 and in a July 2025 secondary review. Reddit excerpts collected by that review are blunter. Users there report failures on character models and on shapes as basic as a cylinder. None of it is a controlled benchmark. But the anecdotes point the same way, and they match the caveat the positive reviews carry.
The aggregate reputation evidence conflicts sharply. A July 2025 secondary review reported 13 Trustpilot reviews averaging 2.0 out of 5, while the April 2026 Trustpilot summary describes sentiment as broadly positive. The live rating and review count were not extractable, so neither figure should be treated as current. Check the live Trustpilot page yourself instead of relying on either number.
Billing and refunds are a recurring complaint, and the policy is restrictive. Secondary review coverage reports users alleging charges without satisfactory output and friction getting money back. One one-star Trustpilot quote reads "NO REFUNDS for a crappy program". The official policy is genuinely narrow: qualifying subscription refunds must be requested within five days with 100 credits or fewer used, and additional credit purchases are excluded. Test on the Free plan or the first few credits of a paid month, not after a week of work.
Your content can be used to train the models unless you are on Enterprise. Meshy's Terms permit use of non-Enterprise User Content to train, validate, test or improve the services unless otherwise agreed. The FAQ says uploaded images are not currently used for training, and that Enterprise data is contractually excluded. Those two statements are compatible, but only if you read the FAQ as describing present practice for one content type, not a permanent commitment across all of it. If your inputs are client-confidential, that distinction matters.
The company numbers in circulation are database estimates, not disclosures. A company profile estimates 77 workers, $5.5 million in annual revenue and $50 million in funding. None of that is independently corroborated, and no funding-round schedule, lead investor, valuation or total raised was confirmed from primary sources. Meshy presents itself as an independent brand, and no parent company or public-company status was found. Treat the figures as unverified.
